In 2022, we had many wonderful flights with you. We flew over 300 flights in Denmark, Sweden, and Poland. It was also the first year we began flying in the regions of Torun and Bydgoszcz in Poland. Here you can see photos from the past year and some interesting facts!

1. A Trip to the Clouds

Autumn flights are beautiful too!

In October, we had the pleasure of ascending above a dense cloud cover during one of our flights. After flying for a while, the landing took place with high visibility, and the views were overwhelming.

Our passengers were lucky enough to see a glory – an optical phenomenon that only occurs against clouds or fog and often resembles a perfectly round rainbow 🙂

2. When Does the Balloon Return to the Starting Point?

“When does the balloon come back?” is a question we sometimes get from our passengers and other interested parties. We usually answer that the balloon does not return to the starting point because it flies with the wind’s speed and direction and will likely land several kilometers away.

But in July 2022, during a flight near Szczecin, the wind directions were so changeable that the balloon took off from Szczecin’s Aeroclub and landed in the same place!

We must admit that it can actually happen 🙂

3. An Unexpected Visit

During one of our lovely September flights, we landed after more than an hour of flying and, as usual, packed up the balloon and had a picnic with our passengers. Shortly after, a police car arrived: They had received a call that someone had fallen out of a flying hot air balloon.

Shortly after, the police car drove off, and instead, a fire truck arrived. The firefighters were also confused when they saw our very relaxed picnic group and told us they had also received a disaster report that the balloon had landed in a tree.

It was a fun experience for everyone involved! But we flatly deny that such a thing can happen – passengers simply do not fall out of the basket, and landing in trees is a completely theoretical risk 🙂

4. Hello There!

During flights, especially at low altitudes, we often see children and families running out of their houses to wave at us and take pictures (some of them send us these pictures – thank you for that!).

5. Flying Over the Dolomites

In January, we were able to conduct several flights in Italy in the Dolomites. These flights required extra preparation and caution.

We flew up to 12,000 feet (about 3,650 meters), in temperatures down to -20 degrees, and on routes up to 100 km long.

6. All Flights Are Beautiful

All balloon flights are beautiful. Spring, summer, autumn, or winter; morning or evening. All are unique and magical. From above, we see foxes, wild boars, and sometimes even wolves in the forests. Sometimes we meet paragliders in the air, and sometimes we rise above the clouds.

If you have special memories or experiences, please feel free to share them with us 🙂
