Flying over Copenhagen is something special
DreamBalloon offers experience flights in hot air balloons on Zealand, Funen and Jutland. When you buy a balloon flight ticket from us, you are free to choose where in the country you want to fly your balloon ride. Please note that we always aim to fly in the area you have requested. If this is not possible on the day of the flight, but the flight can be carried out in another nearby area, we will fly from there instead. This ensures that you get a flight on the requested day, rather than a cancellation.
DreamBalloon flies hot air balloons in many places on Zealand
Zealand is divided into a central flight region, Central Zealand. Depending on the weather and wind direction, it is decided on the day of the flight where on Zealand the flight can take place. If you like ballooning near a fjord, forest, city or countryside – balloon rides on Zealand can deliver it all. On the pages below, we have tried to describe the special characteristics of the different flying areas, but we also want to emphasize that it is almost always the balloon flight itself that ‘fills’ the experience – and not necessarily where you fly. On almost all balloon flights you will experience a great variety of nature and wildlife.
Under each flight region, there are a number of different launch sites, which the pilot selects in collaboration with the flight director on the day of the flight. Since weather and wind directions are so crucial to where the balloon flight will take us, the launch site is only decided when the weather forecast is most accurate – as close to the flight as possible.
January 1, 2019 – Attention – important regarding flights in North Zealand. Unfortunately, for safety reasons, we will not be able to offer flights in the North Zealand flight region in the future. Expansions of urban and agricultural areas give us too few landing areas and thus too limited space to navigate. We refer to the other flight areas and remind you that it is the actual flying experience with the hot air balloon that is the most spectacular part of the experience.
DreamBalloon has an online booking system accessible from the website. Once you've purchased your ticket, you can book your flight.

Hot air balloon flights take place either in the hours just before sunset or in the hours right after sunrise. During the flying season, the meeting and flight times will therefore vary according to the times of sunrise and sunset.
We are in the air for about an hour, depending slightly on wind and weather conditions, suitable landing spots, etc. However, you should plan for at least four hours for the entire experience.
Hot air balloons cannot be steered. They follow the wind's direction, and you never know exactly where you will land. After about 50 minutes, the pilot begins looking for a suitable landing site.
The chase vehicle follows the balloon on the ground and aims to arrive at the landing site shortly after the balloon has landed.
We alternate between a wide range of different flying regions in Zealand, Funen, and Jutland. In Jutland, we most often fly in the area around Silkeborg. On Funen, we typically start in the area between Tommerup, Årslev, and Ringe. In Zealand, we alternate between 4 flying regions: North Zealand, Roskilde, Jystrup/Ringsted, and Sorø.
