Meet the pilots with whom you’re going on your unforgettable balloon flight.

Flight director
Philip Mundt

With over 1000 hours in the air, Philip is a highly experienced balloonist. He has flown balloons all over the world, over extinct volcanoes in Kenya, the ice desert of Svalbard, the great plains of Russia and snow-capped peaks in the Alps. Philip founded DreamBalloon in 2011 and he now serves as the company’s Chief Flight Officer and Director.

Philip also holds a Danish duration record in ballooning (7 hours and 25 minutes) and has flown at altitudes of up to 27,000 feet. He is a former competition pilot, has won the Danish Championship in 2008, 2009 and 2011 and participated in the World Championships in the USA in 2012 and in Japan in 2016.

Chief Pilot
Bartosz Oberski

Bartek is a highly skilled and experienced commercial balloon skipper who has flown virtually every type and size of balloon and has over 1200 flight hours in his logbook. He has flown passengers in a wide range of countries, including such exotic locations as Malaysia, Bahrain, Singapore, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Before joining DreamBalloon, Bartek also worked as a balloon skipper in Germany for an extended period of time.

Bartek is from Poland and is the founder and organizer of Poland’s largest balloon event, the annual international balloon event in Szczecinek.

Balloon skipper
Arturas Kukstys

Arturas is a professional balloon pilot born in Lithuania. His dream of working in aviation started at an early age, growing up next to an airport and watching skydivers jump out of airplanes every day.

A hot air balloon ride is a life-changing experience that can change your outlook on everyday life. This made Arturas want to pass this experience on to others and this is now what he does for a living. Besides flying for DreamBalloon, Arturas has flown in Lithuania, Dubai, Vietnam, Sri Lanka. Aturas flies primarily on Zealand and in Skåne.

Balloon skipper
Hans-Jörg Spies

Hans is a German balloon pilot who primarily flies our tours in Poland. He lives not far from the Danish border, so you can also experience him on flights in Denmark. His first flight was in 1987 in Hungary, when ballooning was banned in his home country, East Germany. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, he became one of the first balloon pilots in that part of Germany.

For the past 30 years, he has flown in countless countries around the world and still enjoys every balloon flight.

Balloon skipper
Sebe Kruijer

Sebe is a Dutch pilot with a broad aviation background, initially starting with an ultralight license that eventually led to a commercial balloon license in 1999. During the 2000s, Sebe set up his own balloon business in the Netherlands where he had several balloons in his fleet.

The company has since been sold and now Sebe flies during the summer season in different parts of the world, including Germany, Austria, Italy and even Taiwan. DreamBalloon has enjoyed Sebe since 2015 when he flew his first season for us.

Balloon skipper
Ismail KeremoÄŸlu

Ismail has an impressive 38 years of commercial ballooning experience and is an extremely experienced pilot with over 6000 flight hours. And he’s also a great guy.

He still has the same passion for flying and in addition to being a balloon pilot, he is also an instructor for parachuting, hang gliding and flying machines. For DreamBalloon he flies on Zealand and several regions in Sweden. Look forward to meeting Ismail – ballooning is his life and you can feel it!

We are in the air for about an hour, depending slightly on wind and weather conditions, suitable landing spots, etc. However, you should plan for at least four hours for the entire experience.

Hot air balloons cannot be steered. They follow the wind's direction, and you never know exactly where you will land. After about 50 minutes, the pilot begins looking for a suitable landing site.

The chase vehicle follows the balloon on the ground and aims to arrive at the landing site shortly after the balloon has landed.
