Flight areas

We operate with several different flight regions; on Zealand, on Funen and in Jutland. In Jutland we usually fly in the area around Silkeborg. On Funen we typically take off in the area between Tommerup, Årslev and Ringe. On Zealand, we plan flights on Mid Zealand, which can include take-off locations in Skibby, Roskilde, Jystrup, Ringsted, Sorø, Slagelse, Stenlille, Haslev, Næstved and other cities. The weather and especially the wind direction on the day of the flight determines where the pilot chooses to fly from.

Ballooning on Zealand

Zealand is characterized by a fine variation between lush countryside, forests, fjords and small towns. There are views of the strait and belt and the Copenhagen skyline in the distance.

Ballooning on Funen

Funen, Denmark’s second largest island, is a particularly interesting flying area where you’ll quickly discover that you’re surrounded by water on all sides. The South Funen Archipelago, the Little Belt to the west, the Kattegat to the north and the Great Belt to the east form a breathtaking setting for your flight. The island suddenly appears small from above, but don’t worry – we’ll make sure you get back down safely.

Hot air balloons cannot be steered. They follow the wind's direction, and you never know exactly where you will land. After about 50 minutes, the pilot begins looking for a suitable landing site.

The chase vehicle follows the balloon on the ground and aims to arrive at the landing site shortly after the balloon has landed.
